Shape-Based Pricing deemphasizes an item's weight in favor of a size,
thickness and weight combination, you will see a major shift in the USPS’
mailing cost structure. Due to shape variations, letters, flats and
parcels will now all be priced differently because they are all handled
and processed differently.
With the introduction of Shape-Based Pricing as part of the USPS' May
14, 2007 rate change, Hasler offers a line of shape-based solutions that
will not only help you combat rising costs, but also remove the
frustration Shape-Based Pricing can bring. With the introduction of
Shape-Based Pricing, Hasler’s Dynamic Weighing Platform (WJDWP) allows
you to process mixed size, thickness and weight mail pieces on the fly. |

The WJDWP adds greater functionality to mailing operations because it
will automatically identify an item as a flat or envelope and will provide
the appropriate rate based on both its shape and weight.
Combine Hasler’s Dynamic Weighing
Platform (WJDWP) with the WJ150, WJ185, WJ220, or WJ250, and you can process
mixed weight mail at speeds up to 130 LPM. The ability to “weigh in motion”
means there's nothing to sort or weigh by hand. You'll reduce labor costs and
increase productivity with the simple touch of a button. The WJDWP handles
dynamic, batch or pass thru processing, and I automatically calculates the rate
for oversized mail without operator intervention
